Yauricocha is part of the operations of Sierra Metals S.A., a major mining company with presence in the central region of Peru. Located in the province of Yauyos, Lima department, this polymetallic mine stands out for its production of copper, lead, zinc, gold, and silver, operating under a responsible management model and continuous improvement. The operation has a complex mining infrastructure that includes tailings storage facilities, waste rock and organic material deposits, transport and pumping systems, as well as quarries and auxiliary structures that require constant technical evaluation and engineering updates.

In this context, a series of specialized services and studies were developed, aimed at ensuring the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of the operation, as detailed below:

  • Safety studies and risk analysis: Update of tailings dam breach analyses, evaluation of failure scenarios, and support for the safe raising of infrastructure.
  • Comprehensive feasibility studies: Development of feasibility engineering for tailings storage facilities, WRDs, OMDs, quarries, and access roads, incorporating a life-of-mine perspective.
  • Engineering design and updates: Preparation and updating of detailed engineering for tailings storage facilities and associated works, including optimization of existing designs.
  • Geotechnical studies and physical stability: Field investigations, laboratory testing, and stability analysis of waste dumps and critical components.
  • Mine closure management: Development and modification of closure plans, including schedule updates and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Environmental permitting support: Generation of key technical information to support modifications of environmental instruments (MEIA) and approval processes before authorities.
