Condestable is an underground deposit focused on the extraction of copper, gold, and silver. The operation is strategically located in the province of Cañete, in the Lima Region, Peru, just 3 km from the Pan-American Highway, at a relatively low elevation of 100–400 m a.s.l., which facilitates logistics and operations compared to other Andean mining projects.
In this context, a series of specialized services and studies were carried out to ensure the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of the operation, as detailed below:
- Tailings storage facility inspection and assessment: Technical inspection and evaluation of tailings storage facilities, including field surveys and report preparation to support decision-making.
- Tailings optimization and expansion: Optimization and expansion of tailings storage facilities aimed at maximizing capacity, improving stability, and extending the operational life.
- Dam breach simulation and risk analysis: Development of dam breach simulation studies and associated risk analyses, considering different operational scenarios.
- Evaluation of tailings disposal alternatives: Assessment and selection of alternatives for the location and configuration of tailings storage facilities, focusing on technical and operational feasibility.
- Environmental permitting management: Preparation and modification of environmental instruments, including Environmental Impact Statements and documentation for operating permits.
- Tailings engineering and associated works: Development of conceptual, basic, and detailed engineering for tailings storage facilities, filtration plants, and associated infrastructure.
- Closure plans and stability assessments: Update of mine closure plans and physical and chemical stability studies, ensuring regulatory compliance and long-term sustainability.
- Construction supervision and control: Supervision, quality control (QA/QC), and technical support during construction and operation, including facility expansions and process optimization.
