The Mirador Mine is located in the province of Zamora Chinchipe, in southeastern Ecuador, within the Cordillera del Cóndor. This open-pit operation is one of the largest projects in the country and the first large-scale mining project to begin operations in Ecuador. The deposit is a copper and gold porphyry type, forming part of the Andean metallogenic belt, and it features industrial infrastructure including processing plants, tailings storage facilities, and high-capacity waste rock dumps.
