During the technical webinar “Innovative heap leach projects”, the General Manager of Anddes Chile, Cristián Clavería, explained that the most important value that is difficult to count in the early stages of engineering is the output moisture of the leached rubble; a difference of 5 percentage points can cause big changes in the efficient design of the landfill and the removal equipment (trucks or mechanized equipment). Additionally, the vibrations associated with the removal and transport process have the tendency to separate the solid and liquid phases of the transported materials, making their deposition and subsequent consolidation even more difficult.
