Yanacocha is located in the northern region of Peru and constitutes one of the most important gold mining operations in South America. Throughout its history, Minera Yanacocha S.R.L. has promoted an operating model focused on efficiency, safety, and environmental sustainability, integrating technological innovation into all its processes. The operation comprises a set of mining and environmental infrastructure, including tailings storage facilities, water management systems, containment ponds, processing plants, and auxiliary support areas.

In this context, a series of specialized services and studies were developed, aimed at ensuring the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of the operation, as detailed below:

  • Engineering design and detail of hydraulic infrastructure: Development of detailed engineering for event management ponds (minor and contingency), including geological-geotechnical characterization and civil and hydraulic design.
  • Field engineering support: Technical support during construction, providing on-site solutions and addressing queries to optimize the performance of equipment and infrastructure.
  • Hydrological studies and water management: Preparation of hydrological studies and water balances to support environmental instruments and efficient water resource management.
  • Environmental management and EIA development: Development and updating of environmental impact studies (MEIA), including terms of reference (TDRs), citizen participation plans, management of sectoral permits, and support throughout the evaluation process until approval.
