FIFTH INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON SEDIMENT MANAGEMENT AND MANAGEMENT
5TO SIMPOSIO INTERNACIONAL SOBRE GESTIÓN Y MANEJO DE SEDIMENTOS
From July 10 to 13 in the city of Montréal, Canada, the 5th International Symposium on Sediment Management and Management (I2SM) was held, organized by the University of Sherbrooke, and the Douai Faculty of Mining Engineering. In this event, the Engineers of the Hydrology and Hydraulics area participated as speakers: Mishel Meléndez and Esmeralda Atarama with the topic “Modeling erosion in basins and sediment retention in mining activity”. The goal of I2SM is to reach academics, professional figures, and public bodies involved in sediment problems to review recent advances in research on sediment management and engineering aspects. Previous editions of the symposium were held in Lille (France, 2008), in Casablanca (Morocco, 2010), in Alibaug (India, 2012) and Ferrara (Italy 2014).
